Video Sharing

Page history last edited by Kevin Clark 11 years, 9 months ago

Video in the classroom is a great teaching tool.  However, you have to pay for Discovery Streaming and YouTube is blocked at school.  What is there to do?

Video Sites

  • TeacherTube

Lots of videos that can be used for instruction.  Their site is getting faster.

  • Vimeo

Good place to upload your own videos.

  • Viddler
  • Google Video

You can search a wide variety of video sites, even though YouTube comes up a lot (Google owns it).

Using Videos

If you find a video, what's the best way to share it?

Embed the video on a web page, blog, or wiki.  This does a decent job of allowing kids to wander all around video sites.  They're very distracting!
